The EGPAF Project Officer works an exciting project introducing and scaling up innovative point-of-care (POC) early infant diagnosis (EID) technology in nine African countries through a grant from UNITAID. This four-year project will provide POC EID platforms, which will enable the testing of hundreds of thousands of HIV-exposed infants. The team is also working to document innovations in tools and models of care that arise from EGPAF programming and translate this evidence into policy and practice that can help improve the care and treatment for children living with HIV/AIDS. These projects include operationalizing universal treatment with antiretroviral therapy, improving testing and retention in care for adolescents, and exploring improvements in HIV/TB care for pediatric populations. The Project Officer provides research and analysis support to the Director of innovation and Associate Director, UNITAID project and the Innovation team globally, focusing on the UNITAID POC EID project, and also provides limited administrative support for the Geneva office. Profile Requirements A bachelors level degree in a relevant field Strong preference for candidates familiar with searching medical databases such as PubMed, Embase etc Able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously within short deadlines, whilst maintaining quality and appropriate priorities Able to work in a multi-cultural environment; possessing maturity, patience and understanding Genuine interest in and understanding of EGPAFs priorities and principals. Prior global health experience a plus. Fluent written and oral English with good writing skills.
