Introduction Building construction project Engineer in the Site Management and Building department (SMB), Site engineering group (SE), Civil Engineering and Buildings (CEB) section. As a Building construction project Engineer you will integrate the Site Management and Building department (SMB) Site engineering group (SE) responsible for organizing, coordinating and supervising the execution of construction works related to buildings and civil engineering infrastructures, required for CERN operation, throughout infrastructure life cycle including construction, maintenance and refurbishment. Functions As a building construction Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the execution of building construction and renovation projects from the initial conceptual design to the final delivery to the end users. In particular you will: Gather requirements and manage change requests. Plan and coordinate the work of the project design consultants including the selection process and, the set up and management of consultant contracts. Coordinate the call for tender process for the works Plan and manage the execution of works including chairing coordination and site meetings, contract management, quality control, compliance with contractual conditions, check of contractors' measurements and invoices. Ensure, in liaison with the appropriate external consultants (architects, design offices), that all constructions comply with the contractual drawings and documents. Make sure that costs and schedules are maintained. Negotiate financial settlements with various external firms. Make sure that all safety measures are taken on the work sites in order to keep the incident rate to a minimum. Qualification required Master's degree in the field of civil engineering, architecture or equivalent. Experience and competencies The experience required for this post is: Managing and coordinating building construction and renovation projects. Proven experience on both tertiary and industrial buildings. Coordinating various trades on site. Organisation of call for tender and selection of firms. The following will be considered an asset: A hands on approach to the building construction and renovation project management. Experience in the industrial and/or scientific environment. The technical competencies required for this post are: Consolidation and renovation analysis. Industrial and civil building construction. Industrial and civil building design. Project management. Quality management.
