The Stakeholder Relations team aims to connect, grow and energise our communities to advance this cause. We engage with people who may be affected by the decisions made around Internet technology, development and governance or those who can influence the implementation of these decisions. The Internet Society is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated intern for an internship positon with the Stakeholder Relations team to support its membership and relationship building activities. The Intern is involved in the planning and execution of a variety of engagement activities as well as a variety of projects. The intern will assist in event management, research and other key initiatives. You must be passionate about stakeholder relations and communications. This is a three (3) month paid internship, based in our Geneva, Switzerland office and requires a valid work permit. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible. Responsibilities: Provide membership research to include data collection, entry and analysis Develop and provide reports on Internet initiatives Support with event organisation Initiate stakeholder interaction Assist in creating a long-term process for stakeholder and ally engagement within global Internet Society events Other projects as directed Desired Qualifications: Ideal candidates for the internship will possess the following characteristics: Broad understanding of a membership organisation and its stakeholder interactions Ability to build relationships with internal and external Internet Society communities, as well as members. Strong communication and administration skills. Acute attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritise time-sensitive assignments. Well organised, creative and flexible. Interest in non-profit management and community development. Exceptional research and writing skills, including the ability to summarize and explain complex issues clearly and concisely. Ability to interact with a wide range of internal stakeholders around the world, including high-level executives, Board Members and CEO. Ability to exercise full discretion and confidentiality. Familiarity or experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. Proficiency in common office software and productivity tools, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, strong knowledge of Excel).
