Define the need (functional analysis) in collaboration with other teams (e.g. test stations teams, superconducting magnet experts, etc). Select the most suitable strategy for the technologies to be applied in future energy extraction systems, and to draft technical and financial proposals. Draw up technical specifications, ensure the follow-up of manufacturing and testing activities in the framework of industrial and scientific collaboration contracts. Ensure the effective reception, integration and commissioning within the CERN machines environment, principally the Large Hadron Collider and the Hi-Lumi Project, but also the related test stations. Participate in the operation and maintenance of energy extraction systems. Supervise external collaborators and internal technicians. Master's degree in the field of Electronics or Electrical engineering, or equivalent Extensive experience in Power electronics Extensive experience in digital and analogue electronics pertaining to the domain of controls for power systems Experience of project management Extensive experience in the operation, commissioning or maintenance of power electronics systems Experience in energy extraction systems would be an advantage Design of High power systems (> 1 MW): electrical switches from 600 a to 30 ka; mechanical & semiconductor design, materials, system analysis, thermal management, industrialisation Design of embedded control system: ability to define and integrate a control electronics part within a power environment Electro-mechanical design: ability to use simulation tools (e.g. PSIM, MATLAB or equivalent) Processing of dielectric insulation: detailed knowledge of high voltage materials and test procedures would be an advantage English and French Work in Radiation Areas Require interventions in underground installations A valid driving licence is required Work and Stand-by duty during nights, Sundays and official holidays
