Introduction

Graphic Designer in the International Relations (IR) Sector, Education, Communication & Outreach (ECO) Group, Design & Visual Identity Service (DVS).

You will join The IR sector which holds the following units:

.Member States.

.Associate and Non-Member States.

.International Organisations.

.Other Stakeholders.

The International Relations sector (IR) is responsible for contributing to and implementing the international relations strategy of the Organization, including: strengthening cooperation between CERN and its Member States; enhancing links with Associate Member States and Non-Member States; implementing CERN's geographical enlargement policy; promoting the mission of the Organization through education, communication and outreach activities; and building partnerships with international organisations and other relevant stakeholders.

Functions

As a Graphic Designer in the Design & Visual Identity Service (DVS), you will:

.Work with a team of designers with frequent interactions with the Protocol Service and senior managers to create, update and maintain high-level presentations.

.Set design, enhance the look and feel of our corporate presentations and update the graphics.

.Produce visual material for communication needs, such as reports, brochures, exhibition material, events and branding.

.Provide assistance with computers and other needs during Protocol and other high-level presentations as needed.

Qualification required

Higher (post-secondary) technical certificate/diploma in the field of Graphic Design, or equivalent.

Experience and competencies

The experience required for this post is:

.Proven working experience as a Graphic Designer within a team is key.

.Graphical creativity and ability to translate design concepts into logos, visuals, brandings, etc.

The technical competencies required for this post are:

.Use of Office software packages: competent with macintosh and pc operating systems.

.IT Operations: proficiency knowledge of the adobe suite, ppt and keynote.

.Organisation, planning and control.

The behavioural competencies required for this post are:

.Working in teams: cooperating constructively with others in the pursuit of team goals; balancing personal goals with team goals.

.Demonstrating accountability: working conscientiously and reliably; delivering on promises.

.Managing self: using time efficiently and effectively.

The language competencies required are:

.Oral and written English or French; ability to understand and speak the other language in professional contexts.

This vacancy will be filled as soon as possible, and applications should normally reach us no later than 22.05.2016.

We offer a limited-duration contract for a period of 5 years. Limited-duration contracts shall terminate by default on their date of expiry. Subject to certain conditions, holders of limited-duration contracts may apply for an indefinite position.
